CacheFly Performance Menu

Throughput Performance Matters

Most CDNs will try to convince you that Time To First Byte (TTFB) is the only measure of a CDN’s performance. However, TTFB only measures how fast the web server is able to respond to a request, not Time To Last Byte (TTLB), or the total time from request to download. You need a CDN that performs from the first byte to the last byte, and nobody does that better than CacheFly.

We built the only network for throughput.

Our TCP-anycast technology and infrastructure offers the fewest network hops and the fastest file throughput performance. A leader in TCP anycast CDN technology, our global footprint consists of over 40 Points of Presence (POP) in over six continents to deliver your content the FASTEST.

Website performance monitoring reports from Paessler, CloudHarmony and Cedexis, prove that when it comes to overall throughput performance, CacheFly demolishes the competition.

CacheFly eclipses all major CDNs in overall throughput performance of a 100KB file in the U.S.

In addition to our anycast network, we offer features such as Gzip Compression, Expires Headers, Instant purging, Reverse Proxy, and fast replication, for added optimization and fastest file delivery to your global end-users.

Compress Your Delivery Time.

Our Gzip Compression compresses your data to optimize transfer via the Internet. Gzip compression speeds up delivery, and also lowers your bandwidth costs by using less data to transfer over the wire to send to a user.

Set Cache Expirations and Save Bandwidth.

Expires Headers enables you to determine how long your content should be cached on our globally distributed servers. Expires Headers work by communicating to the browser how long to store a file in the cache so the file will not need to be downloaded again in returning visits. Expires Headers not only reduce the amount of downloads from the server by allowing users to reuse the cache files that have been stored in the browser from a previous visit, but it also reduces the number of HTTP requests. If content changes regularly, you should set short expiry times. For more static content, set late expiry times.

Purge all of your Old Data — Instantly.

If you’re like most customers, your content is constantly being updated or needs to expire at some point. You can set a Cache-Control header on your origin (Reverse Proxy) or specify a TTL (Time to Live) in the portal to have your content expire after a certain age. Or, use our manual purge tool or API to instantly purge your content.

Manually uploading lots of small files is tedious. That’s why we fully support Reverse Proxy (Origin Pull), which enables you to designate us to automatically fetch non-cached objects, by simply leaving the content on your origin and rewriting the URL to point to CacheFly. In the event of a cache miss (the object doesn’t exist on our CDN), we proxy the request back to your origin, “on the fly,” and fulfill the end-user’s request, while caching the object/s.

With CacheFly, there’s no need to wait for hours to push an update and have files replicated to your end users. We equip you with super-fast replication to replicate your files as soon as they are updated — in SECONDS, not hours — giving your users the files they need, faster and more reliably.

We’re scalable for Companies of All Sizes.

Our CDN services are infinitely scalable for companies of any size. From some of the largest Fortune 500’s, to small “mom and pop” businesses, thousands of companies from over 80 countries trust CacheFly to deliver their content faster and more reliably.

If your company is small to mid sized, you’ll be happy to know that TopTenReviews ranks CacheFly #1 among 2016 Best CDNs for SMBs.
