Dedicated edge capacity in priority markets, without requiring customers to build and operate their own delivery network

CHICAGO, September 8, 2026. CacheFly today announced the launch of CacheFly Private CDN, a fully managed, single-tenant content delivery network for enterprise streaming and media companies that need greater capacity certainty and control than shared CDN infrastructure provides.

Each Private CDN deployment is designed around the customer’s production traffic, priority markets, peak demand and failover requirements. In a fully managed deployment, CacheFly provides the hardware, facilities and connectivity, and operates the complete delivery stack, including the software, network, peering, monitoring and capacity planning.

For high-volume streaming companies, the alternative to using shared CDN infrastructure was to build and operate a delivery network internally. Building offers greater control, but also requires significant investment in infrastructure, connectivity, engineering expertise and 24/7 operations. It is aimed at companies that have hit a wall with public CDNs, where adding another provider or tuning quality of experience no longer moves the needle.

CacheFly Private CDN gives customers dedicated infrastructure and capacity without requiring them to become CDN experts. The deployed resources are reserved exclusively for the customer, providing more predictable infrastructure costs without the engineering headcount required to build, maintain and operate a CDN around the clock. The service is backed by CacheFly’s more than two decades of experience operating delivery infrastructure.

“Enterprise streaming teams need predictable performance and capacity they know will be available when demand spikes or traffic fails over from another CDN,” said Nenad Merdanovic, Vice President of Engineering at CacheFly. “Private CDN reserves that capacity in the markets that matter to the customer while CacheFly remains responsible for the infrastructure, performance, reliability and round-the-clock operations behind it.”

CacheFly begins each engagement with a capacity plan rather than a standard rate card, working with the customer to understand its priority markets, average and peak traffic, live-event profile, expected failover load and redundancy requirements. CacheFly then designs the deployment, including capacity, cache depth, connectivity and point-of-presence configuration, around those requirements. Because failover load is an explicit input, a deployment is sized for the traffic it may need to carry rather than only the traffic it carries on an average day.

Customers retain visibility into delivery through the CacheFly platform and work directly with CacheFly engineers to tailor routing, caching and delivery configurations. Private CDN can be used for primary delivery, dedicated capacity in specific regions or reserved failover capacity within a multi-CDN strategy. Customers can also deploy it selectively while continuing to use CacheFly or other third-party shared CDN infrastructure in other markets.

Private CDN complements CacheFly’s shared network and Dedicated Shield rather than replacing them. Customers can combine shared and dedicated services based on their requirements, deploying Private CDN only in the markets or workloads where reserved edge capacity is needed.

Depending on the market, capacity and connectivity requirements, CacheFly can deploy a Private CDN in 14 to 30 days after design and commercial terms are finalized.

CacheFly Private CDN is available now for enterprise design engagements. IBC2026 attendees can meet with CacheFly to discuss their traffic, capacity and deployment requirements at the RAI Amsterdam from 11 to 14 September at Stand 5.F90.
