CacheFly has had a record-breaking year. While we’ve experienced year over year growth since our founding, 2020 has seen an impressive expansion of our network and rapid traffic growth.
We can attribute this to a variety of factors including well-timed improvements to our network, COVID-19 impact on viewership and data consumption, the traffic demands of remote work, and the successful market expansions of our customers. Add it all together and while 2020 has been a challenge here at CacheFly for personal and professional reasons, much like everywhere else, our network is performing better than ever.
North America: This region has seen a more than 40% traffic increase of transfer on our network. Between launching new PoPs in Boston, MA, United States, and Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and substantial improvements in volume from some of our best customers, our system is pushing more traffic than ever while keeping our availability up.
South America: We have seen our traffic increase ten times the volume we were pushing in the region in 2019. As you likely know, we made substantial improvements in the area during late 2019 and early 2020. Our capacity is better than ever in Latin America, and our customers are leveraging our network expansions to their advantage.
EMEA: We’re pushing 3-4 times the traffic in 2020 compared to 2019 in EMEA. We added PoPs in Johannesburg, South Africa, Moscow, Russia, and Istanbul, Turkey expanding our network capacity, leveraging our incredible throughput, and keeping our uptime up.
Asia: CacheFly is delivering four times the traffic in APAC in 2020 as compared to 2019. We’ve expanded our network in the region and upgraded many existing PoPs to advance our already powerful infrastructure.
Scale Safely
Overall our global expansion equates to CacheFly nearly doubling our traffic compared to last year without stressing our network. It is one of the cornerstones of our business model to keep our infrastructure healthy while expanding. We strategically place new PoPs and choose our partners carefully to empower ourselves and our clients to grow business and expand into new markets. Not only can we safely scale, but all the incredible companies delivering on our backbone can also.
